MSIG Introduces Flexible Coverage SMB Group Health Insurance Plan | Taiwan News

Innovative ‘one-high / low’ outpatient coverage and new digital platform provide adaptable and inclusive options for clients

HONG KONG SAR – Media reach – October 18, 2021 – MSIG Insurance (Hong Kong) Limited (“MSIG”) today announced its SME Group Medical Insurance Plan (“the Plan”) targeting SMEs with flexible coverage options as well as MediGo, a new digital portal for policy integration and management. Drawing on its experience in providing health and business insurance, MSIG designed the plan to meet the unique needs of SMEs in today’s rapidly changing digital business environment.

The scheme offers six levels of coverage – from the essentials to the bonus – to ensure that every employee can get the right level of benefits. MSIG has also developed a “one level high / low” function which allows employers to choose one of three levels of optional outpatient benefits corresponding to each hospitalization plan. This allows SMEs to offer groups of employees tailor-made coverage adapted to their needs.

As the next step in its digitization program, MSIG also launched the MediGo portal that provides online access for the convenience of employees and employers. Specially designed features allow users to easily manage their SME group medical policies and benefits. Employees can now find designated physicians, submit and track claims, download documents, access digital medical cards, and monitor their benefits, all in one place. Employer services have also been enhanced to include online inquiries and 24/7 access to police details and member information. In due course, all MSIG Group Health Insurance customers will be able to enjoy the benefits of MediGo as it is rolled out to MSIG customers in the healthcare sector.

Philip Kent, CEO of MSIG, noted: “The SME community in Hong Kong is a vital part of our economy and presents a significant opportunity for insurers. We’ve designed our new PME Group Medical Plan and Medical Portal to deliver sophisticated, easy-to-administer employee benefits – so they can stay focused on growth and development. Our unique vision of SMEs is based on our long experience serving health and commercial insurance clients and we are delighted to offer a plan that is both flexible and digitally cutting edge.

The plan offers premiums tailored to the needs of young dynamic SMEs whose demands are constantly changing. Prices are based on the age of each insured employee and their dependents, using 5 year age groups – an approach adapted to the growth and development of SME teams. Employers can customize their policies with optional coverages, including additional medical, dental, and critical accident personal benefits. The MSIG has also implemented a simplified application process, waiving individual health declarations for companies with six or more employees.

In addition, insured personnel and their dependents can take advantage of direct billing services from a network of more than 2,600 general practitioners and outpatient specialists via the MSIG digital medical card.
